Hi All,

The front is blowing nice and cold but the air vents in the back on the bottom rear side are warm ?

It is all set to cold.

Any ideas?

That is not for aircon/climate control , that is an additional heater for the rear passengers in the winter time, rear aircon has vents located in the roof headlining and looking at your model it will not have rear aircon fitted :16: it will only blow in air from outside ,anyway if your driving your alright jack! no it wont! it's a recirc unit, no access to outside air

Now I'm confused !

If the front A/c is set to cold....the rear dial to cold and fan in position 2-3 should the back blow cold A/C air ??

Cheers

no the rear unit is just a basic recirc unit it only circulates ambient temp air, unless you have roof vents then its an ac unit but its still a recirc unit

Then what's the unit under sill below the nearside rear door - looks to me like it's got a condensate drain and surely that smacks of Air Con????????

Mines blowing warm aswell but then so is the front and the displays doings the flashy thing, so there definately summat up with it!

I was also looking for the pollen filter, 'cus theres not a lot of blow either. Can anyone give us a clue where it is and how to get at it?

Booster heater.....diesel powered heater unit for Siberean winters....the "drain" you refer to is actually a mini exhaust c/w mini cat!...not to be touched while running unless you want 1st degree burns! It only comes on when the ambient temp is low (5 deg or 10 deg depending on model) and the coolant temp is low....and it sounds like a jet engine when working

Flashing panel usually means low a/c gas and therefore no a/c

Pollen filter is buried on the top of the engine bay scuttle panel on the nearside (passenger side), to the right of the wiper linkage looking toward the rear of the car.....

How to change a pollen filter

and tomorrow it will rain........

i know this is an old topic now but i have a 2000 1.9 alhambra with climate, i've had it regassed and i have cold in front and not in the back.

anyway, I was doing some work on the front of the car and took out the drivers side indicator lens, I found wot looks like an air con filler cap!

when i originally had it regassed I was asked if i had more than 1 gassing point as i may have air con in the back.

so wot is the point I found?

From what i have learnt from others is, if you dont have air vents in the roof facing the rear seat pasengers then you do not have rear air con.

I dont think there are that many cars with it fitted to be honest with you.

That's right - it was an option - I have dual Air con - you can see three vents for he first row of seats and two for he rear ones. The unit is placeed over the nearside rear wheel - and there is a condensate drain there -behind the rear wheel. The Booster heater is in front of the wheel (If you have a diesel)

The coupling under the indicator which looks a bit like a schrader valve is the high-pressure filling connection, the one under the bonnet is the low pressure port. A recharging rig will be connected to both of these when recharging the system. Models with rear aircon still only have the same two couplings, the front end of the system is the same.

Another way to tell for certain if you have rear aircon, if you aren't convinced by the roof vents - look in the engine bay and find the silver coloured pipes to the evaporator on the passenger side of the bulkhead. You will see a pair of pipes heading off towards the opposite side of the car, one approx 12mm diameter, and one approx. 6mm. If you have a second pair of pipes teeing of these (within a few inches of the bulkhead) and heading straight down and under the floorpan, then you have a rear evaporator and rear aircon.
